CRIME STOPPERS of VAN ZANDT COUNTY

Volunteers working together to take a bite out of crime

LET'S PUT A STOP TO CRIME IN OUR COUNTY

Van Zandt County Crime Stoppers Inc was formed by concerned citizens working with local law enforcement agencies in order to put a stop to crime in our county.  Crime Stoppers is a civilian, non-profit organization.  It operates a hotline to receive anonymous tips about fugitives or criminal activity.

Persons with knowledge which may lead to solving a crime can call 903.567.STOP.  Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement: fear and apathy.

Crime Stoppers provides a telephone number to encourage citizens in the community to volunteer vital information helpful to law enforcement agencies to fight against crime. 903.567.STOP

Callers can remain anonymous and are assigned a case number.
If that tip later leads to an indictment in the case, the person is paid the reward in cash by a third party at a specified location.
The only means of identification would be the case number.

This system has been utilized and has produced amazing results worldwide.
The statistics show that with both complete anonymity and a cash reward being offered, people are more likely to share their information.

The key element to a successful and productive Crime Stopper program is the dedication and support it receives from it's community.
