About VZ County Crime Stoppers

Van Zandt County Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit community partnership that works with local law enforcement agencies to solve and reduce crimes within the entire county. Crime Stoppers provides an anonymous means for citizens to report crimes or the whereabouts of fugitives.

Through the tip line (903.567.7867), crimes can be reported, anonymously, resulting in a cash reward of up to $1,000 for tips that lead to arrest. Crime Stoppers is a proven crime reduction tool funded entirely through public donations and fund raising. Tax-deductible contributions can be sent directly to Van Zandt County Crime Stoppers, PO Box 961, Canton, TX 75103.

When a citizen with information about a crime calls Crime Stoppers at 903.567.7867, the caller’s anonymity is assured by a special identifying system. No one ever knows the caller’s identity. If the tip leads to an arrest in the case, the caller receives a cash reward.

A volunteer Board of Directors made up of local citizens oversees Van Zandt County Crime Stoppers and approves rewards. Citizens are encouraged to attend Crime Stopper meetings, open to the public, on the second Monday each month (except holidays) at 7 p.m. at the Van Zandt County Criminal Justice Center on State Route 64 in Canton.

If you as a citizen, or your business, is interested in becoming an active member of Crime Stoppers, please email us at info@vanzandtcrimestoppers.org.

Board members are available to make presentations about Crime Stoppers to local organizations or neighborhood groups. If your group wants to learn more about Crime Stoppers, email info@vanzandtcrimestoppers.org with the group name and contact information, along with the date and time of the meeting.
